Founded in 2002, Informnis GmbH is dedicated to the fast-changing technologies of data networks, telecommunication, and Linux/UNIX systems.

Course Development
Informnis has an existing and expanding portfolio of courses for its key technology areas, data networks, telecommunication, and Linux/UNIX. Our courses have a modular design so they can be tailored to meet the needs of each customer. Additionally, we have written hardware-specific courses for our networking and telecommunication customers. Cisco Systems, ABB, Ericsson, and Axxessit have all purchased long-term rights to teach Informnis courses, or hired us to develop their system-specific course material.

Teaching
In addition to our own courses, we teach the courses of other companies including Cisco, Red Hat, HP, Ericsson, and a variety of Linux Professional Institute (LPI) companies. Where applicable, our instructors are of course certified. Customers that have hired us to teach in-house courses include Nokia, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Canon, ABB, Ericsson, The Canton of Zürich, and The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). Additionally, through publicly offered courses, we have taught the employees of hundreds of other companies.

Contracting and Consulting
Instructors who only teach suffer a dulling of skills and a lack of understanding of real world problems. Therefore we continue to hone our skills by working on both short and long term contracting projects. These have included:

• redesigning and moving the network of a 1500 person company
• designing the LAN and fully redundant WAN for an off-site, 50 server computer room
• converting a company's Tru64 UNIX servers to SuSE Linux
• handling the upgrading of a company's Sun Solaris servers
• redesigning and upgrading the Cisco infrastructure of a large corporate network
• expanding and redesigning an Ethernet over SDH provider network

In addition, we have provided personnel to work side-by-side with the staff of our customers. This is often hands-on-training, where we focus on improving the skills of the employees while working with them on their day-to-day tasks.
